Robert Eggers has already made a name for himself with only two feature films under his belt. In his follow-up to The Witch, we watch two lighthouse keepers (played by Willem Dafoe and Robert Pattinson) slowly descend into madness as they’re isolated together for months in brutal conditions.
Eggers’ attention to detail is what makes his films so compelling – they feel as though they come from another time.
