Arts, family favourites, anime and more: Cineplex Events brings a world of entertainment to the big screen


Whether you enjoy Broadway or Beethoven, art or anime, there’s a lot more than blockbusters playing on the big screen. 

Cineplex Events offers a diverse lineup of exclusive and curated programming that brings world-renowned theatre, opera and dance performances, as well as sports, classic films, documentaries, concerts and special events to your local theatre.

Appealing to a wide range of interests, the Events program includes live events via satellite, Q&As with cast and crew and exclusive behind the scenes footage.

It also offers something for a variety of audiences including family friendly films and programs such as Stars and Strollers and Sensory Friendly Screenings.

Anime 

From Tokyo Ghoul to Wolfwalkers and Earwig and the Witch, Cineplex brings the best of anime to the big screen in both dubbed and subtitled versions. 

Don't miss Belle now playing in Cineplex Theatres, Sing a Bit of Harmony beginning February 20 and Jujutsu Kaisen O from March 18.

Documentaries

From a behind the scenes look at the hottest K-pop sensation BTS to a deeply intimate look at Billie Eilish, Cineplex brings a diverse array of documentaries to the big screen. 

Next up is Last of the Right Whales beginning February 20 in Cineplex Theatres and Never Forget Tibet - The Dalai Lama's Untold Story for one night only March 31.

Concerts & Music

Experience the thrill of a live concert in a luxury leather seat while enjoying Cineplex hot buttered popcorn. Music at the Movies brings documentaries, concert films and music movies to theatres across Canada.

BTS Army, get ready. BTS Permission to Dance on Stage - Seoul is coming to Cineplex Theatres for one day only 
with two shows on Saturday, March 12, 2022. Tickets go on sale February 22.


Classic Films

New classic film titles, all which have been digitally restored, are released each month for $6.99. 

Stage

Cineplex brings the stage to the screen including the best productions from New York City’s Broadway, London’s West End and National Theatre, the Kenneth Branagh Theatre Company and Ontario’s own Stratford Festival.

Gallery & Exhibitions

Get up close and personal with some of the greatest art exhibitions and galleries around the world with In the Gallery.

The Met 

The Met’s 2021–22 season of live movie theatre performances features 10 spectacular productions, including four Met premieres. Tickets are now on sale.



Family Favourites

Stars & Strollers 

See the latest Cineplex releases in a baby friendly environment with lowered volume and dimmed lighting, as well as change tables, bottle warmers and stroller parking available in select theatres. Check back soon for upcoming dates and films. 


Sensory Friendly Screenings

In partnership with Autism Speaks Canada, Cineplex provides a sensory friendly environment for individuals with autism spectrum disorder or those who find a lights up, sound down environment more suitable. Check back soon for upcoming dates and films.
